Baby Life - It's so Real!

I'm so tired. Ha! I am so fortunate, to have our little guy with us. And it's so exhausting! I guess that's not a surprise to anyone. But I still don't know how people have multiple children, Or twins, God forbid!

Our little boy is eight months old now. He is healthy, and so cute. He is very lively and energetic, which is great. He is not very good at napping, which is less great.

My Baby's Birth Story.

-- Content warning: all good news, but too much information details about birth in here! --

It seems unreal. My baby is here. It has been two weeks since his birth and we are haggard, but he's amazing.

It is sort of customary to write a bith story, so here it is. At 38 weeks and 5 days I started having occasional contractions and a bit of spotting in the evening. The next night I had intense…

Holy Smokes. I'm a Mom.

I don't even know where to begin. I had a baby a couple of weeks ago. It is still incredible to me, and I have not processed the fact. It's too wild.

I am overwhelmed with new baby life and am now at the coffee shop taking a little break, while our baby is with my husband.

25 Weeks Pregnant, Wow

This is such a trippy, surreal experience. I am 25 1/2 weeks pregnant.

Things seem to be going well. We made it through the anatomy scan at 21 weeks, with a follow up at 24 weeks because they couldn't quite get all the images they needed. My belly is big and I look so pregnant. My sister in law is planning a baby shower. It's wild!

We are now into planning baby supplies and doing normal things…

A Good Update!

Well! Things are actually looking good! I know, crazy!

We had our ultrasound yesterday, at 9 1/2 weeks. And our baby is right on track! Heartbeat and size are perfect for 9 1/2 weeks, and it all looks good. I have little pictures and videos of the ultrasound. We saw him move his little arms and legs and wiggle around. So crazy! He's only an inch long right now, but it's wild that an inch long…

Egg Donor and Embryo Transfer

I have been meaning to write an update, but it has been a long while. So here we are! It's egg donor time. After a long wait for our previous donor, who fell through, we found a donor we loved at a different clinic. Thankfully, things have gone relatively quickly through this process with this clinic. We selected our donor at the beginning of November, got all the paperwork done, wrote some very…

Next Steps and a New Egg Donor

We are working on our next step - proceeding with donor eggs. Looking to donor eggs is a lot to wrap our heads around. We had a donor we liked very much lined up. She was supposed to donate for us after the cycle she was doing for other intendend parents. And that sounded good till after that cycle, when she felt that the retrieval had taken a lot out of her, and she needed time to recover and…

Small Rant - Keeping it Together and Uterus Talk

Preparing to go in for a saline sonogram, to see what is the status of my uterus, so we can be ready for an embryo transfer in a few months. It all feels a bit terrible. I have been so happy not doing any of that. The continuing scrutiny of my body looking for any imperfection is a gross terrible feeling. Maybe everything will be fine. But I am a bit angry at my doctors, because I followed their…
